Speakers throughout the Sunday afternoon session emphasized covenants and rejoicing in Jesus Christ.

Elder D. Todd Christopherson, second counselor in the First Presidency, began the session with a message focused on the character of Jesus Christ.

Christlike character grows out of a Christlike heart. Thus, if we are to succeed in developing a Christlike character, we must possess His motivations," he said.

Conference attendee and Brigham Young University student, Savannah Johnson, appreciated Elder Christopherson's emphasis on Christ-like love.

I loved President Christophersons talk; it was so good. I feel like his talk on charity and turning outwards really hit me," she said.

Primary General President Susan H. Porter shifted to address the children in the audience, emphasizing their role in God's plan.

Today you can make choices that will help you change and grow now and prepare you for blessings of love and joy forever," she said.

The importance of covenants was also stressed by multiple leaders including the idea of marriage. Sunday afternoon attendee and BYU student Brady Rustad appreciated this focus.

The fact that families can be eternal and together forever is a very core part of our beliefs," Rustad said.

The session was concluded with the words of President Dallin H. Oaks.

Truly, Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come," he said.

President Oaks also encouraged members to ponder and pray over the messages shared during Conference.

As people attending the session and those watching from home finished watching General Conference, they carried the messages with them into their own lives.

Many speakers gave Easter-centered messages focused on Jesus Christ, His love and hope found only through Him.

Many messages focused on the principles the Savior taught, as well as the peace that He offers despite trials and struggles.

When life feels infuriatingly unfair, and finding the strength to glory in the Lord seems difficult, reflect on the meaning of His divine names, and let Him restore peace to your soul, Elder Aaron T. Hall, General Authority Seventy, said.

Other speakers focused their messages on promises and miracles.

The Lord honors patient faith. And it is never too late for miracles, Elder Taniela B. Wakolo, a General Authority Seventy, said.

Ryan Tupea, a conference attendee and Hawaii native, said Elder Wakolos talk was his favorite.

This patience, just with you know friends and family converting to the gospel or coming unto Christ. I think that was my favorite part, Tupea said.

Members gathered from across the world for the messages given.

Abbey Steiner, a service missionary, was one of the sisters who helped hand out translation devices to attendees.

The translation devices were available in 50 languages and allowed many members to hear the talks in real-time in their own language.

I hear we have record attendance right now, which is incredible, and that we handed out all our translation devices, Steiner said.

While each talk was different, all were an invitation for listeners to turn their focus to Christ and love as He did.

At the conclusion of the Easter season, members were invited to remember the Savior in all that they do.

Let us see and walk together in His love so He can abide with and in us, and us in Him, at this Eastertide and each day, said Elder Gerrit W. Eyring, first counselor in the First Presidency, and featured addresses from President Dallin H. Oaks, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Elder Ronald A. Rasband, Elder Dale G. Renlund, President Emily Belle Freeman, Elder Pedro X. Larreal, Elder Edward B. Rowe, Elder Thierry K. Mutombo and Elder Alan R. Walker.

President Uchtdorf opened the meeting by reflecting on the heartache and hopelessness Jesus Christs followers must have felt the morning after His death nearly 2,000 years ago.

How could the man who had cast out demons, healed the crippled, cured the sick, walked on water, conversed with angels, taught the blessed hope and infinite glory of the gospel, fed multitudes and raised the dead how could He, Himself, have died? President Uchtdorf said.

President Uchtdorf continued his talk by proclaiming the hope and light Christs resurrection brings amidst darkness.

Each morning may the daily rising sun remind us that Jesus Christ is the light that leads us through this life, through any valley of sorrow, over beautiful mountains of joy, and across any ocean of uncertainty or temptation, safely back to our loving and merciful Father in Heaven, he said.

Amulek Plata attended the Sunday morning session and said President Uchtdorfs words stood out to him.

I liked the part when (he) talked about how we need to learn how Jesus Christ is risen, Plata said. (Christ) is willing to help us whenever we are facing trials.

Young Women General President Emily Belle Freeman followed President Uchtdorf and spoke of best days and worst days in life. She told the story of the apostle Peter and how Christ used his good and bad days to teach him.

Maybe it took both the worst days and the best days for Peter to become who the Lord needed Him to become, she said.

Multiple speakers throughout the session similarly emphasized Christs love for us. Elder Pedro X. Larreal and Elder Edward B. Rowe of the Seventy both touched on how they feel the Saviors love and guidance in their lives.

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve also added his testimony of Christs love and the hope Easter represents.

After three days in a borrowed tomb, Jesus Christ broke the bands of death imposed by the fall. With His Resurrection, He secured salvation from physical death for us, all of Gods children throughout the ages, Elder Rasband said.

Elders Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve and Elder Thierry K. Mutombo and Elder Alan R. Walker of the Seventy subsequently shared stories of how Jesus Christ has influenced their life through the Atonement and covenants.

On this Easter Sunday, let us consider why focusing on Jesus Christ and the infinite virtue of His great atoning sacrifice is of greatest value and helps us no matter how many other concerns we must manage," Elder Renlund said. His life, mission, and the fruits of His Atonement bless us infinitely and daily.

Cece Cohen attended the Sunday morning session and said she had been looking forward to coming to conference on Easter Sunday all week.

I think its a really special opportunity, she said.

Zane Elkins, another conference attendee, said he came to the morning session of conference wanting to know how to come closer to Christ. The words of President Dallin H. Oaks, the concluding speaker of the session, helped answer Elkins question.

I really liked what he said about loving one another, Elkins said.

Like others, President Oaks spoke about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. His talk also focused on loving one's enemies as Christ would.

As followers of Christ, let us follow Him by forgoing contention and by using the language and methods of peacemakers, he said. In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful. Let us seek to be holy, like our Savior.

Several new General Authority Seventies were called as well.

Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve started off the session with a message focused on reaching out to the forgotten and neglected.

He spoke of the Kansai International Airports world record of never losing a passenger's luggage. "Not one single piece," said Elder Stevenson.

Just as the airport cares for cargo that is precious to passengers, Elder Stevenson said that individuals are Christs precious belongings and that ministering in normal and natural ways leads to success in missionary work.

"In the end, we are all one family. We all need help along the way," said Elder Stevenson.

Elder Eduardo F. Ortega of the Seventy followed sharing about how Jesus Christ is the author and finisher of our faith.

"[The invitation to endue on the covenant path] is received individually as we seek diligently and are nourished by the good word of God to keep us on the right way, to keep us continually watchful unto prayer, relying alone upon the merits of Christ," Elder Ortega said.

General Authority Seventy Wan-Liang Wu spoke about his conversion and how he learned about a God he had never heard of before.

A common theme amongst many speakers was the focus on the rising generation, the youth of the Church.

Brother David J. Wunderli, first counselor in the Young Men's General Presidency, talked about how Christ is our relief, not our burden.

He also spoke about the rising generations talents to gather others.

"More are committed to becoming lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ," Brother Wunderli said.

Elder Grald Causs of the Quorum of the Twelve spoke next. This was his first talk at General Conference as a member of the Quorum, as he was called in November 2025.

Causs spoke about the outpouring of love he and his wife have received these past few months and how Christlike love multiplies as it is shared.

He added that when life feels heavy and distant from God, pausing to reflect on His presence reveals that He is quietly present.

There is wonderful depth, so much to love in every soul, Elder Causs said.

Elder Brian J. Holmes of the Quorum of the Seventy shared how Jesus Christ is the only way back, that His way is the way to the "Celestial finish line."

Elder Clement M. Matswagothata of the Quorum of the Seventy shared how Jesus Christ has brought hope and resilience to his family.

Elder Matswagothata testified that God knows the individual. Through his personal experiences, he knows that when burdens come, it can be a reminder of God's love through the people placed in our lives.

The last speaker of the session was Elder Ulisses Soares, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. He spoke of the many voices of the world offering persuasive messages and invitations.

He compared these voices to vines getting tangled, as the voices are shared through various forms of media. He urged the crowd to listen to the Holy Ghost.

"True wisdom in our technological day is found in using modern tools with spiritual discernment, through the Holy Ghost," Elder Soares said.

There were many smiles after the session as attendees shared with each other what they learned.

Keely Hunt attended the session and loved the emphasis on the importance of ministering.

"Especially in the last days, really unifying everyone and serving one another. Showing how loved that they are," Hunt said. "I think this session really showed that Jesus had a very special message that he wanted to share with all of us."

Members of the Church not only enjoyed the speakers from the session, but many were happy to be able to see the Salt Lake Temple once again after many years of scaffolding and cranes surrounding it.

Many before and after the session flocked to the temple to take pictures and see the renovations of the historic Temple Square.

"With the scaffolding down, I'm so grateful. It looks like a temple again," Hunt said.

The Church auditing department also gave its annual statistical report for 2025 during the session.

For access to the full session, individual talks, and information on this session, visit the Church website.

Matswagothata expressed a similar sentiment. "May I invite you to choose to remember Him and follow Him not casually or occasionally, but deliberately and always," he said.

These invitations are especially relevant as many have prepared to celebrate Easter.

Lainey Holderness, a conference attendee, said, "I love the chance to celebrate Christ's resurrection and think about how He's the why of our church, and so we get to focus on that this weekend."

"The fact that it's actually when Christ was resurrected and we can talk about that, I just love that it's during this spring season," said Dylan Pugmire, another conference attendee.

Elder Grald Causs delivered his first address as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve. His message testified to the love of God and of the Savior.

"I bear witness of this truth: God and His Son Jesus Christ love all and They love each," he said.

Whether through speakers or music, these Christ-centered messages were meaningful for many members of the Church.

"I love the peace and the warmth that it brings hearing messages from the prophet," Pugmire said.

Sister Fisiliu, a conference attendee and missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said, "Every time I come to conference, I can feel the spirit so strong and I can feel the love of our Savior Jesus Christ so strong, and I think that's my favorite part about coming to Conference."

"I like to come to General Conference to hear the words of the prophet because it brings me so much happiness and joy," said Mia Winterton, a conference attendee.

The conference center will reopen tomorrow as attendees gather to hear messages on Easter Sunday.

Oaks.

At the beginning of the session, President Oaks explained the assembly was a way for members to demonstrate their willingness to sustain the Churchs new First Presidency, as well as other leaders. He ended his remarks by sharing his testimony.

At this Easter season, I reaffirm our testimony of the Resurrected Lord and recognize that He is the head of this Church, President Oaks said.

During the solemn assembly, members stood in their quorums and groups to vote. The assembly ended with everyone standing together in a sustaining vote.

The solemn assembly was really cool. I felt the Spirit of God and I just felt a sense of support for our leaders and for our prophet, Dallin England said.

The last solemn assembly for the church was in 2020, commemorating the 200th anniversary of Joseph Smiths First Vision.

Elder Patrick Kearon said the assembly creates a day full of gratitude and rejoicing at the opportunity for the whole church to come together and exercise common consent.

Subsequent speakers focused on following Christ through ministering, magnifying our callings and relying on the Savior through trials.

The spirit was really strong. We had the opportunity to sustain, in person, the living prophet of Jesus Christ but more importantly, we had a chance to truly feel the spirit of each member of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve, and to listen to their messages as they testified of Jesus Christ, said Lisa Rhodes.

Audience members said they felt love and guidance during the talks.

I feel great, I felt blessings, I felt that God loves me all the time and endure to the end, Lorena Fuentes said.

The session ended as President Henry B.
