BYU men’s soccer scores first win of season

BYU men’s soccer added the first notch to its belt Friday with a 5-0 win against UVU, already fulfilling the promise goalkeeper Chris Jenkinson made on Sept. 15.

Last year’s matchup against UVU ended in a 3-0 win, with BYU maintaining possession for 78% of the game and firing off 26 total shots.

The five goals were scored by Evan Smith, Aaron Jolley, Dylan Rodriguez and Eric Morris. Two goals were scored in the first half, and the last two were scored in the last ten minutes of the game.

The team hopes to extend their winning streak against Boise State Saturday at 7 p.m. on the South Field.
