Newly released body camera footage shows a police officer riding the hood of a car as the suspect attempted to flee in Carroll County, Iowa on March 5, 2021.
Officer Patrick McCarty rode the vehicle until he was flung from the roof. McCarty suffered back injuries but has since recovered.
The suspect was later sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay restitution to Officer McCarty.
