A COVID-19 vaccine exemption bill is heading to Gov. Spencer Cox to be signed into law.

The bill passed both the Utah Senate and House. The bill was sponsored by Sen. Kirk Cullimore R-Draper, and requires an employer to relieve an employee of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate under certain conditions. It would allow employees to waive the vaccine mandate by claiming medical, religious or other personal reasons.

The law would also not allow employers to fire employees who refuse to be vaccinated.
