Lions at Utah's Hogle Zoo have tested positive for COVID-19.

After sneezing and coughing, four out of the five lions were tested by nasal swab. The fifth lion refused to take the test. Zoo officials sent the tests to the National Veterinary Services laboratory, and they came back positive for the COVID-19 delta variant.

The infected African lions will stay on exhibit because there is no known risk to the public. Hogle Zoo workers will continue to monitor their symptoms, but the lions are currently doing well and only showing mild signs of the virus.
