The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the cancellation of youth camps, conferences and pageants worldwide due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement was made in a letter sent to Church leaders on Thursday. The letter also stated that Church recreational properties in the U.S. and Canada that are used for youth camps and conferences are closed until further notice.

“If customary camps and conferences are not held, local leaders may want to consider technology-based experiences that would provide youth with fun and meaningful opportunities to connect with one another,” the letter reads.

The letter also says treks are canceled for 2020, as well as the 2020 Nauvoo and Hill Cumorah Pageants.

The Nauvoo Pageant will instead be held July 6-31, 2021, and will continue in future years. The final season of the Hill Cumorah Pageant, which was originally scheduled to end in 2020, will be postponed until July 8-10 and July 13-17, 2021.
