Instacart is working to increase safety measures for its workers who are worried about COVID-19. The changes were made in an attempt to stop a strike planned by the workers.
The grocery delivery service says it will begin providing hand sanitizers to its full-service shoppers, and it will also make it easier for customers to set default tipping percentages.
The Instacart shoppers say they also want additional safety items and hazard pay, with a default tip of 10% and an extra $5 an order.
The demand for Instacart deliveries is surging due to the COVID-19 outbreak, and the company is trying to higher another 300,000 shoppers.
