“There is nothing like this in the Utah Valley area!”

Denisse Arias

Denisse and Lisde Arias are two sisters hoping to change the dating scene in Utah Valley. Their business, Let’s Picnic, provides couples with a romantic picnic date full of food, games, flowers, music and photos — all meticulously styled under a delicate lace teepee. The sisters say that Let’s Picnic is a fresh alternative to the overdone dinner-and-a-movie date.

Romantics can pick one of several experience packages. After the date, time and location are requested, the Arias sisters will take care of the rest.

Lisde says that Let’s Picnic is not just for lovebirds. Anyone can purchase a picnic package regardless of the occasion.

Denisse says that the large dating scene in Utah makes it the perfect location for this type of event planning service.

“We arrived at a place where people really crave unique and fresh date ideas,” says Denisse.

With Utah Valley couples getting engaged left and right, the sisters hope that their picnics could be used for marriage proposals.

Denisse’s engagement story was what inspired her to launch Let’s Picnic.

“About eight years ago, my husband proposed and he had this whole date planned with activities, but the beautiful and romantic picnic was the highlight of the day,” Denisse said.

The sisters also hope that this business will strengthen their sisterhood. Lisde had lived in a different country from her older sister for five years. She recently moved from Mexico to Utah to be closer to Denisse. Lisde said that Let’s Picnic has been a great way to bond with her sister over something they both love. She says,

“Now that we are here, we are always looking for things to do together, so jumping into this was just another way to spend time together,” Lisde said.

Growing up, Denisse and Lisde’s family valued experiences over material things. The girls wanted to incorporate this love for memorable experiences into their professions.

“The idea of surprising someone is really thrilling,” Lisde said. The Arias sisters hope that they will be able to spread this passion through their Let’s Picnic business.
