Carrie Bradshaw is in her junior year of high school in Connecticut in the early 1980s. After the death of her mother, she must help her father manage her rambunctious sister, Dorrit, while managing her own life through high school with its ups and downs. With the help of her father, Bradshaw gets an internship at a law firm in Manhattan. Soon after, Bradshaw meets Interview Magazine editor Larissa Loughlin and is later offered a job at the magazine. Bradshaw must live a double-life, working for Interview while pretending to keep her internship at the law firm, and with the help of her friends, must reconcile her two worlds.

Flint Lockwood is a struggling scientist who lives in Swallow Falls, a fictional island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. After many failed inventions, Lockwood seems to have finally invented something worthwhile: a machine that turns water into food. Upon turning it on, the machine overloads and shots out his house’s electrical supply. Flint then tries hooking up the machine to a local power plant where it ends up rocketing through the town, destroying a theme park and ultimately shooting up into the sky. While Flint thinks this is the end, his machine causes food to rain down from the sky. Over time, the food mutates and becomes larger, and when things run out of control, it is up to Lockwood and weather intern Sam Sparks to save the world.

Meredith Grey is a newly accepted resident at Seattle Grey Hospital and the daughter of esteemed general surgeon Ellis Grey. During Grey’s residency, she works alongside fellow residents Christina Yang, Izzie Stevens, Alex Karev and George O’Malley, who all struggle to balance both their personal lives and their hectic schedules as residents in a busy hospital. During their internship, the group is overseen by senior resident Miranda Bailey, who works under attending Physician Derek Shepherd, Grey’s love interest throughout the show.

Ben Whittaker is a seventy-year-old retired widower who is growing bored with his life. Seeking to experience something new, Whittaker applies to be a senior intern at About The Fit, an e-commerce fashion startup in Brooklyn. Whittaker is assigned to work with the company’s founder and CEO, Jules Ostin, who initially sees him as obsolete. Over time, Whittaker works himself into Ostin’s good graces and becomes a source of wisdom and support for her and other employees working at the startup.

Billy McMahon and Nick Campbell are two recently laid-off watch salesmen in search of their next big break. Amidst their search, Billy applies for an internship with Google. After a not-so-smooth interview, Google decides to accept the two of them due to their unorthodox answers. Upon arrival at Google, McMahon and Campbell discover they are the oldest of the interns, everyone else being college-aged. They are grouped with three other interns and must compete against the other teams of young, tech-savvy interns for a shot at employment.

In an effort to win him back, Woods gets herself accepted into Harvard Law School, but learns he is already engaged to someone else. Woods eventually realizes that none of her classmates will take her seriously, which motivates her to prove herself by working hard and getting herself accepted into a professor’s internship program. Through this internship, Woods is able to learn the importance of staying true to herself and sticking to what she believes.

Inspired by a true story, The Pursuit of Happyness showcases the struggles of single father Christopher Gardner. Gardner has invested heavily in a device known as a “bone density scanner.” The devices do not sell as well as he had hoped, and he struggles to get by. As a result, of this Garner’s wife leaves him and he loses his apartment, forcing him to live on the street with his son. Gardner continues selling his devices while taking on an unpaid internship as a stockbroker with chances of a paid position at its conclusion. But before receiving pay, Gardner must outshine other interns while undergoing six months of training.

Richard Parker and Larry Wilson are two best friends who have recently discovered that someone has been embezzling money from their company. After informing their boss, Bernie Lomax, he invites them to his house outside the city for the weekend. Little do they know, Bernie is the one who has been embezzling the money, and he plans to have them murdered. Upon arriving at Bernie’s house, though, Richard and Larry find him dead. While Richard wants to do the right thing and report the murder, Larry is determined to have a fun weekend at the beach.
