The Latest: Treasury hits 17 Saudis with economic sanctions

The U.S. is imposing economic sanctions against 17 Saudi Arabian men accused of participating in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi within the Saudi Arabian consulate in Turkey on Oct. 2. One of the men is a close adviser to Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman, who denies any participation in the murder.

Northern California fire death toll at 56; 130 missing

Over 450 people are scouring the rubble left by the Northern California Camp Fire, which has claimed 56 lives with 130 people still missing. The fire destroyed the small town of Paradise and is now taking homes in Magalia, a town of 11,000, north of Paradise. The Camp Fire has destroyed almost 9,000 homes.

FDA to crack down on menthol cigarettes, flavored vapes

Scott Gottlieb, commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, said he won’t let another generation become addicted to nicotine because of e-cigarettes. He pledged to implement new restrictions aimed at children. E-cigarettes contain harmful nicotine that health officials worry will put young adults on a path that leads to regular cigarette use.

Official trailer released for ‘Dumbo’ live-action remake

“Dumbo,” the Disney film that originally premiered in 1941, has been turned into a live-action remake that combines the same beloved characters with new friends. Danny DeVito stars in the film.
