Michigan State and Nassar victims reach $500M settlement

Michigan State University came to a $500 million settlement for over 300 women and girls who said they were sexually assaulted by sports doctor Larry Nassar. It has yet to be determined how much each victim will receive, however, the money will not be divided equally. It’s also unclear where the money will come from.

Bill Gates gives $44M to influence state education plans

Bill Gate’s non-profit Bill and Melinda Fates Foundation has granted approximately $44 million to focus on the 2015 federal education law called the Every Student Succeeds Act, where states have flexibility to create their own education system framework and define what a “good school” is. In turn, states receive federal dollars for following their set standards.

Police: Rapper T.I. arrested outside his gated community

T.I. was arrested around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday after he got into an argument with a security guard outside of his gated community. The artist claims that the guard would not let him enter the community after losing his key. T.I. was charged with disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and simple assault.
