College of Family Home and Social Sciences
- Psychology professor Daniel Kay recently conducted research on conscious awareness in sleep patterns. According to the study, those with insomnia may deal with increased levels of conscious awareness, which prevents them from reaching a deep state of sleep.
Marriott School of Business
- Public management professor Robert Christensen co-authored a study about the market conditions necessary for a non-profit to succeed. The research found increasing the number of non-profits in less competitive markets had a positive effect.
College of Life Sciences
- BYU won the National Collegiate Landscaping Competition for the second year in a row. BYU has won this title six times since 2003.
College of Fine Arts and Communications
- Award-winning musical “Single Wide” is debuting at BYU through April 7. The musical features original work of theatre and media arts professor George Nelson and was ranked as one of the 10 best Broadway shows in 2015.
- School of Communications professor Chris Cutri will give the Faith and Works lecture on April 12. He will discuss the ability to create art that inspires audiences to serve.
College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences
- BYU alum Scott Ruoti was a co-recipient of the 2017 John Karat Usable Privacy and Security Student Research Award. Ruoti conducted research on developing easy-to-use security systems.
- Computer science student Candice Lusk developed an app called Cake Cam. The app allows users to frame the exact positioning of the photo they want to take before handing it off to a stranger to actually take the photo.
