LDS Church will announce new leadership Tuesday

Russell M. Nelson, president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will address members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a live broadcast Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. MST.

President Nelson will then speak at a press conference at 10 a.m. and introduce the new church leadership. His message will be broadcast live on KSL.com, KSL TV, LDS.org and  MormonNewsroom.org, and audio will be broadcasted on KSL Newsradio and BYU Radio. The church satellite system will also broadcast the message worldwide in 29 languages.

Sometime before Tuesday, the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will meet to unanimously vote to select a new leader of the church. The newly elected president of the church will then select a first and second counselor.
