Doors to the Conference Center in Salt Lake City opened at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 11 for employees of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and their families to pay their respects to President Thomas S. Monson.

Before the viewing became available to the public at 9 a.m., 5,500 people had visited the Hall of the Prophets on the third floor of the Conference Center. By noon, over 10,000 people had come to honor President Monson. Ten to 20,000 more are expected to visit before the viewing ends at 8 p.m.

President Monson’s funeral will also be held in the Conference Center on Jan. 12, which seats 21,000. The funeral begins at noon and will be broadcast live in 28 languages. For a full list, see Mormon Newsroom’s release.
