The BYU Athletics department is helping fans celebrate the onset of football season by launching the official “Rep the Y — BYU emoji keyboard” app.

The app launched on Sept. 2 in honor of BYU’s first football game of the season. BYU Athletics partnered with mobile app developer Clever Coding to create the BYU-themed keyboard. The app contains more than 80 custom emojis, icons and GIFs featuring logos, graphics and other content unique to Cougar Nation.
To use the emoji keyboard, smartphone users must download the app for free from the Apple or Android app store. Users must open their phone settings and allow the keyboard app “all access,” in order to use the emojis.
Users can access the BYU emojis in the same way they access the emoji keyboard that comes pre-installed on their phones.
Based on social media responses, Cougar fans are enjoying the app and embracing this new way to “Rep the Y,” but wish the keyboard worked better on Twitter.

The new BYU emoji app is a great start. Terrible for Twitter, but pretty sweet for texts. I'm sure it'll get better. pic.twitter.com/3fkFgR77Kl
