HOV violations occur most often in areas of congestion, according to BYU civil engineering professor Grant Schultz.

- At the recent teacher preparation summit, the U.S. Department of Education recognized the McKay School’s IP&T department for its leadership in innovating technology use for teachers and classrooms.
College of Fine Arts and Communications
- Leslie Odom Jr. replaced Kristin Chenoweth as the BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series season opener due to Chenoweth’s conflicting film schedule. She will perform on May 19-20, 2017.
College of Nursing
Cara Willey will replace Mark White as the nursing undergraduate advisement center supervisor. (BYU Photo) Mark White recently retired after serving as the nursing undergraduate advisement center supervisor for 10 years. He helped improve efficiency in the advisement center and digitalize student immunization records. Cara Willey, his assistant for the past 10 years, will replace him.
College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences
- BYU physics professor Justin Peatross was given the American Physical Society’s Outstanding Referee Award for his work in peer reviewing physicists’ research. Out of 60,000 active reviewers for the American Physical Society, only 146 received this award.
