Theft

May 31 – Around 3 p.m. a male student reported his front license plate missing from his car. The car was parked in Lot 52 and the plate has since been listed on the national database for stolen plates. There was no indication the plate was stolen.

May 31 – Around 11 a.m. a female student reported a bicycle stolen from the bike racks near the Richards Building. The bike had been left for a couple of weeks and had a flat tire. It had been secured to a rack with a cable and was valued at $200. The bike was later found at impound.

May 27 – A student made a delayed report of a bicycle that was stolen from the bike racks at Wyview. The bike was unsecured and had been left for three months. The student had no idea when it was taken but valued the bike at $120.

Fraud

May 25 – Around 6 p.m. an individual received what they believed to be a suspicious phone call about their account information. Police obtained information about the caller and confirmed the incoming call was legitimate. The call was from a radio station asking for donations.

Suspicious activity

May 26 – Police are investigating the death of 36-year-old Kevin Poulsen, who was hit by the Frontrunner near 1100 West and 400 South. Police are looking into the circumstances of his death to determine if it was intentional.

Missing person

May 26 – The body of Tyson Cook was found near Squaw Peak Road. It appears he died from a self-inflicted gun wound. He was reported missing a week earlier on May 25, just days after his second child was born. Cook was considered “endangered” when he was reported missing because of to his rare autoimmune and neurological condition. Cook’s family states this condition was the cause of his subsequent death.

Theft

June 2 – A series of car theft occurred near 1800 North and 100 East. In the majority of these incidences, items were left in plain view and a window was smashed to gain entry.

June 2 – A local restaurant was broken into and money from a safe was taken.

May 27 – A man stole over $600 worth of merchandise from a local retailer. Police are currently reviewing video surveillance.

May 27 – A home around 700 South and 1400 West was burglarized after the suspect forced entry into the house.

Disorderly conduct

June 2 – Police were contacted after a woman was unsatisfied with her dental care and caused a ruckus. She calmed down when police arrived and only after receiving her dental “swag” bag.

Drugs and alcohol

June 2 – A woman was pulled over for speeding. As she reached to get her driver’s license out of her wallet, the officer also saw a bag of meth. She was cited and then released.

May 27 – An intoxicated man went to a bar but was refused service because of his intoxication levels. He became irate and wanted to start a fight with an employee, but fell to the ground while trying to throw a punch. He was later arrested and taken to jail.
