SALT LAKE CITY — A 66-year-old Mormon missionary who suffered severe burns on more than one-third of his body in the Brussels airport bombing has been released from the hospital.
University of Utah Hospital spokesman Kathy Wilets confirmed Thursday that Richard Norby has been released after more than two months in American and European hospitals.
Norby suffered severe injuries from shrapnel in addition to the second- and third-degree burns on about 35 percent of his body.
Norby, of Lehi, was standing with three young missionaries when two bombs went off on March 22.
He is the last of the four missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be released. The others are 20-year-old Joseph “Dres” Empey of Santa Clara, 19-year-old Mason Wells of Sandy and 20-year-old Fanny Clain of Reunion Island, France.
