Music fans have plenty to look forward to this summer as dozens of musicians, singers and bands plan tour stops in Utah. The concerts range from up – and – coming indie acts to international pop superstars.

BYU senior studying special education Kellie McDougle said she is excited to see country musician Keith Urban this summer in West Valley City. She said she spends most of her disposable income in the summertime on experiences, like road trips and concerts.

“I just love the experience of being in a huge crowd at a concert, where everyone is connected and experiencing the music they love together,” McDougle said.

BYU junior studying communications Johnny Thomas said he has tickets to see indie electronic music producer Flume in Salt Lake City this August. He is excited to see how Flume brings his unique electronic music to a live stage.

“Flume has these really unique sounds, and I like guys that make music that is different; they like to do what they want rather than follow trends. His live show should be awesome,” Thomas said.

This summer also sees a rise in local music festivals, including campout festivals in Heber and Torrey Utah, the Ogden Twilight Series, where each $5 ticket doubles as a frontrunner train ticket to Ogden and back, and the annual Provo Rooftop Concert Series.

No matter what genre a person might prefer, Utah’s live music scene is full of variety this summer. Here is a breakdown of the top shows coming to Utah this summer:
