Provo Recreation Center celebrated its third birthday by having a large cake fight. Attendees joyfully sang happy birthday and counted down to begin the smashing event.

“The Provo Recreation Center is about health and fitness and we wanted to celebrate its birthday by tossing the cake out,” Cooper Brown, the DJ entertainer of the event, said.

Long tables loaded with old un-edible cake donated by local businesses was aligned with people in protective eye wear.

Concluding the cake fight attendees covered with cake and icing began a water fight as the fire department brought out the showering hose.

Janelle Degroot, 21, celebrated her own birthday along with the Provo Recreation Center.

“It was fantastic,” Degroot said. “I was especially attacked because it was my birthday and all my friends wanted to make sure that I was covered.”
