BYU baseball blows out Utah 14-3

The BYU baseball team moved to 26-5 on the season with a 14-3 blowout win against the University of Utah on Tuesday night in Provo.

The Cougar's 14 runs came off 13 hits. A nine-run third inning put BYU up 11-0 and the Cougars never looked back.

Several batters recorded two RBIs including Hayden Nielsen, Bronson Larsen and Colton Shaver. One of Shaver's RBIs came off of a solo home run in the sixth inning. Eric Urry and Tanner Chauncey both hit doubles and contributed with three RBIs each.

Left-handed pitcher Hayden Rogers earned the win for BYU and moved to 4-0 on the season.

Tied with Gonzaga, BYU sits in first place atop the West Coast Conference with St. Mary's College of California just one game behind. The Cougars will travel to Moraga, California for a big, three-game conference series against St. Mary's beginning on Thursday, April 14.
