Men’s Basketball

On Feb. 25, 2012 the Cougars beat the Portland Pilots 76-66 in their final home game of the season.

Junior forwards Brandon Davies and Brock Zylstra. Davies notched his third consecutive 20-point game, scoring 25 on the night. Zylstra scored 20 to help the Cougars pick up a win over the Pilots.

Senior forwards Charles Abouo and Noah Hartsock also played their final home games for BYU. Abouo scored 16 points in the win and Hartsock missed the game due to injury.

 

Women’s Basketball

Last season on Feb. 26, Cassie Broadhead hit two free throws with 1.8 seconds in a nail-biting win against Portland, 65-63. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Cougars.

Senior forward Morgan Bailey had a double-double in the win, scoring 17 points and pulling in 12 rebounds. Lexi Eaton (now Rydalch) scored 16 points.

Men’s Volleyball

Flashback to Feb. 25, 2000. The No. 4 Cougars were up against the UC San Diego Tritons. Their 3-0 victory set records and extended the nation’s longest home court winning streak to 38 matches and the 80th three-game victory in BYU men’s volleyball history.

The Cougars made 59 of 107 total attacks with only nine errors. BYU also out blocked UCSD 9.5 to 4.0. Key players for the Cougars were Mike Wall, who lead the team with 11 kills, and Jaime Mayol and Casey Jennings, who each had 10 kills.
