Seven-year-old Spencer Cloward got the opportunity of a lifetime at the BYU-St. Mary’s game after an image of him wearing Cougar Blue amongst a sea of Utah fans went viral.
The University of Utah tweeted the image showing Spencer, a first grader at Lone Peak Elementary School, at an assembly with his classmates. The vast majority of those in the picture were in red and making the “U” sign with their hands. But not Spencer.
To the kid reppin' the Y amidst all those U's, you be you. The state would be lesser off without some blue. #GoUtes! pic.twitter.com/6XfeEqzutx

The image began spreading on Twitter and it attracted the attention of former BYU linebacker Derik Stevenson. Stevenson immediately took action and went to Twitter asking Cougar Nation to help.
I need to buy 4 tickets for BYU vs St. Marys if anyone has extras. They are for little Cougar fan Spencer and his parents. I'll get you cash

“People gave him tickets, sent him gift cards so he could buy more BYU gear – it’s just been awesome for the kid and I’m so happy just to be a part of it,” Stevenson said to the Deseret News.
Thanks everybody for sending Spencer gift cards, footballs and BYU swag. You guys are too cool. Make sure to say hi to him at BYU-St.Marys.
