Junior forward Kyle Davis was named as the West Coast Conference Player of the Week coming off his stellar performance Friday night against Utah Valley University.

Davis scored 17 points and had 20 rebounds against UVU on Friday in BYU’s home opener. His 20 rebounds is the most ever by a BYU player in a season opener, breaking the previous record held by Kresimir Cosic set in 1971.

The Utah State transfer had to sit out last season due to NCAA transfer rules.
