In his Sunday afternoon October 2015 General Conference address, he told of the people who walked with the Savior and saw the miracles he performed on the sick and the afflicted. Elder Clark also talked about those who saw those miracles and chose to reject him as the Savior of the World.
'However, there were many men and women, including his faithful apostles, who centered their lives on him. Though they struggled with worldly distractions, with confusion about what he taught, and even with fear, they believed in him, loved him, and followed him.'
The member of the Seventy then explained that even when Christ left his disciples, he blessed them with the baptism of fire and the Holy Ghost, which became a constant companion to them.
Elder Clark described how the Holy Ghost helped to guide these disciples to the truth and helped the gospel of Jesus Christ sink deep into their hearts.
He related those faithful disciples to the disciples of Jesus Christ that live on the earth in these days.
'We too live in a time when the Lord Jesus Christ works miracles, including healing the sick, cleansing sins, changing hearts, and opening salvation to God's children on both sides of the veil.'
Elder Clark explained the greater need for the Spirit and light and how more eyes need to be opened to see the Savior's purposes more clearly.
Blessings come to God's children when they open their hearts and 'truly receive' the gospel of Jesus Christ, he explained.
To conclude his remarks, Elder Clark related an experience about his parents after they had received a mission call to the Philippines. His Mother was concerned about the health of her husband due to his struggles with asthma.
While his mother was sleeping one night, she awoke and told her husband that she had heard a voice telling her that she should not be worried, but that her husband would be taken care of in the Philippines.
As he served in the Philippines, Elder Clark's Father never had any problems with his asthma.
'Simple obedience brings the Spirit into our hearts.'
