Real Salt Lake began its two-game road trip in disappointing fashion by losing to the LA Galaxy 1-0 in Los Angeles Wednesday night. RSL had tied the Galaxy at home earlier this month and had hoped to continue the good form it displayed at home against New York City FC on May 23.

The lone goal of the night came from a penalty kick that Galaxy player Vitor 'Juninho' Junior converted in the seventh minute. RSL repeatedly attacked the goal but only had one shot on goal. Head coach Jeff Cassar made drastic substitutes in the second half. Javier Morales and Joao Plata came out for Luis Gil and Lubos Pecka. Alvaro Saborio came off for Devon Sandoval later in the game.

The Galaxy led most of the game and were able to keep RSL to long shots outside of the penalty box. Their smart defensive play led to five RSL offside calls.

RSL continues by traveling to Vancouver on May 30 to play Whitecaps FC.
