Utah is about to be blasted with a winter blizzard. Idina Menzel, star of “Frozen,” “Enchanted” and “Wicked,” will perform at the UCCU Center Oct. 1.

Menzel has performed in the Broadway muscial “If/Then” and sang the National Anthem at the 2015 Super Bowl. She performed “Let It Go” at the 86th annual Academy Awards. She was also nominated for the Best Actress Tony Award and released a Christmas album, all in 2015 — and the year isn’t even halfway through yet.

Most of Menzel’s performances and sold-out concerts include performances of musical theater favorites and classic pop. She is known for charm and dominating vocals. The Denver Post called Menzel “the Streisand of her generation.”

Playing the main character Elsa in Disney’s highest-grossing animated film, Menzel became known for her Top 10 Billboard song “Let it Go.” But it wasn’t her first award or record. Menzel earned her first Tony nomination as Maureen in “Rent.” She also played Elphaba in “Wicked,” Rachel’s mother in “Glee” and Nancy in Disney’s “Enchanted.”

“On the other markets that her shows are being sold, she’s a good seller,” said Lael Fray, from The Event Group at the UCCU Center. “I’m sure she’s going to sell out.”

Tickets start at $25 and go on sale at the UCCU Box Office on Saturday, April 25, at 10 a.m. Tickets can also be purchased through Smith’s Tix.
