Theft

April 21 — An individual reported an unsecured bicycle taken from the bike racks by the Indoor Practice Facility.

April 21 — An officer responded to a report of an individual that had taken items from the bookstore. The individual was located and cited.

Orem

Theft

April 22 — A TV and some jewelry was stolen from a home near 800 S. 1800 West.

April 22 — A mother called the police because her son had stolen $200 from her purse.

April 23 — Some wheels were stolen off of a car near 900 N. 1500 West.

April 24 — A trailer was stolen near 300 W. 600 North.

April 24 — A man was caught shoplifting at Winco and was cited. Another man was caught shoplifting at Target and was cited.

Drugs

April 23 — Two men were cited after they were found smoking weed.

April 24 — Officers responded to a report of a possible DUI at a local gas station. The male driver was still in the car, and the female had gone to use the restroom. When the female saw the officers, she left on foot to another nearby gas station. The male had some paraphernalia in the car and an officer followed the female and found out that she had hidden a used syringe. Police suspect she had used heroin while in the restroom. The male was cited and the female was arrested.

Criminal Mischief

April 22 — Police responded to a report of a man taking pictures of females as they walked around inside of a local business. This is not the first time the police have dealt with the same man doing the same thing. He was referred for charges.

Provo

Bomb Threat

April 21 — At approximately 4:41 PM Provo Dispatch received a call from a male suspect who claimed he placed a bomb inside the city center building. In addition to claiming that he placed a bomb, the suspect stated he had a gun and that he was inside the city center building.

After receiving the call, dispatch contacted several city departments and informed them of the threat. Officers then evacuated the building and stopped traffic from entering the block around the city center. After the evacuation, officers completed a systematic search of the building and determined that the suspect’s claims were unsubstantiated. Detectives have the case and are investigating.

Missing Person

April 21 —Elizabeth Elena Laguna Salgado was last seen on Thursday, April 16, leaving the Nomen Global School at 384 W. Center Street in Provo. Since that time she has not been back to her apartment, shown up for work, or contacted any family members.

Salgado is 26 years old, 5’4″ to 5’5″ inches tall, 120 to 130 lbs, and has long black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a denim jacket, blue jeans, black or brown knee high boots, and was carrying a denim hand bag with red straps. She is a returned missionary and lived at the Branbury.
