Jury finds Provo man guilty of murder

A 49-year-old man has been convicted of aggravated murder in the 2011 contract killing of a Provo man over a disputed debt.

A jury returned the verdict Thursday against Danny Logue in the shooting death of 32-year-old Andy Purcell outside his mother's home.

Authorities say Logue and Darrell Morris killed Purcell in May 2011 at the order of Yuri Lara, who paid them with methamphetamine.

Lara and Morris were sentenced after earlier pleading guilty to manslaughter charges.

Logue also was convicted Thursday of drug charges, possession of a weapon by a dangerous person and obstructing justice.

He awaits sentencing March 31.

Purcell's family says Purcell and Lara had previously dealt drugs together and were in a dispute over payment for a vehicle Purcell sold to Lara.
