Salt Lake draws crowd to StartSLC entrepreneurship event

Beehive Startups hosted a three-day entrepreneur event Jan. 29–31, drawing more than 4,000 attendees to 66 different events in Salt Lake City. StartSLC is the largest startup and tech event ever held in Utah.

Ten judges awarded $250,000 to startups during StartSLC’s event finale on Saturday. Spencer Taylor and Tanner Yarro, of ViDi, a company that develops action cameras, won first place and $200,000. PlanGrade came in second-place, winning $50,000. Pluralsight, a company that provides online tech training, won the Utah Startup of the Year award.
