SALT LAKE CITY — President Thomas S. Monson concluded the Sunday afternoon session with a message of gratitude and exhortation. He expressed a desire for members to return home and be a little better than they were in the past.

“May we be a little kinder and more thoughtful,” he said. “May we reach out in helpfulness, not only to our fellow members but also to those who are not of our faith.”

He specifically asked members to remember the elderly. Many members of the Church remember stories of President Monson as a young bishop taking care of 84 widows in his ward.

“May we follow the mandate to succor the weak, life up the hands which hang down and strengthen feeble knees,” he said.

He concluded by thanking members for their prayers and hard work.
