SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney will help fellow Republican Mia Love in her race for Congress.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Romney will host a fundraiser and rally for Love on Oct. 8 at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi.
Love, the former mayor of Saratoga Springs, is running to replace outgoing Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Matheson in the 4th Congressional District.
She’s being challenged by Democrat Doug Owens, a Salt Lake City attorney and son of late U.S. Rep. Wayne Owens of Utah.
The Romney fundraiser will be private but the rally immediately following will be open to the public.
The rally starts at 7 p.m.
