BYU's team score was 35-over-par at the end of the tournament. Northwestern won the invitational by shooting 8-under-par. Junior Lea Garner took 12th place individually and shot 2-over-par. She tied with her career-low as a Cougar in the third round, shooting a 70.

BYU coach Carrie Roberts was optimistic about the outcome of the tournament. 'I thought we finished very well,' Roberts said.

'We kind of focused on that. We could have done better in the second round, but everyone played pretty well. We are hoping to be more consistent next week and to get a little bit better each round.'

The women's golf team will be playing next week at the Cougar Cup Sept. 22-23 in Pullman, Washington.
