Michael Jackson holographic performances debuted at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards in May. The Michael Jackson concert tour is set to feature these holographic performances with tickets starting around $100. Before this tour starts, we set out to ask BYU students their opinions on this price for a dead man’s concert.
“I don’t think it really matters if he’s dead or not. I mean, people really like him, and I think tickets would be that same price whether he was alive or dead.” — Rebekah Thomas, Pre-management, Sandy
“That’s a lot of money. Maybe if it were around $50, but I just don’t think $100 is reasonable.” — Brittney Wallace, Dance education, Draper
“It’s kinda cool that he’s dead and singing songs, and I bet it has to be expensive to do all that holographic stuff.” — Glade Howell, Business administration, Ogden
“I haven’t seen the hologram performance, but I think that is ridiculous.” — Freddy Woods, Pre-communications, Springville
