BYU’s Outdoors Unlimited opened its online site on Feb. 18 after 30 years of business.

Outdoors Unlimited is a center for Provo residents to rent, buy and repair nature and sports equipment. It is most known for its unique mission: Outdoors Unlimited provides its customers, whether from BYU or the surrounding community, with high-quality products in a convenient, affordable way.

“Outdoors Unlimited was specifically created to help students take advantage

of their natural surroundings,” said Gardner Kearsley, store manager. “We believe this new website will help students more easily find where they need to go to get their outdoor gear.”

Kearsley hopes the new website will help raise awareness of its location and products for all BYU students.

Employees and even Outdoors unlimited programmers have a strong passion for the outdoors and how their work ties into their customers’ interests. The store has proved to be a great resource for students and even employees.

Kendall Tingey, who wrote copy and helped design the new website, said, “I had just finished a triathlon, and I enjoy outdoor activities, so it seemed like a great fit.”

Known for their ski, snowshoe and other winter sports rentals, Outdoors Unlimited is also gearing up for the warmer season with summer rentals and products. Giant Twister boards, Dutch-ovens and tug-o-war rope are provided for camping and games. For mountain biking and cycling enthusiasts, it provides a full-service bike repair shop.

The website is currently promoting a discount to customers who post pictures of their outdoor excursions on Instagram using #outdoorsunlimited. The previous store in the Wilkinson Center moved to North Canyon Road during 2012. Students looking for more information can visit www.outdoors.byu.edu.
