Located on the southeast end of campus, Dave and Cranky’s offers students a unique dining experience with the best home-cooked meal outside of the home. The all-American bistro offers flavors and seasonings that fill the mouth with a palate overload. The menu is filled with delicious meats, from steak to pork, that compliment the restaurant’s fresh salads.

Dave Furse, the owner of Dave and Cranky’s, and his wife Lindsey, share stories and jokes with their customers, making customers feel like they are at a dinner party rather than a restaurant.

Everything in the restaurant has some personal value to Dave and Cranky’s. From the homemade tables and chairs to the Dada art hanging on the wall and the bar made out of a bowling alley floor, Dave and Cranky’s furnishings contribute to the bistro’s relaxed atmosphere.

Specialty dishes:

Although Dave and Cranky’s is an American bistro, its seasonally changing menu means there are no consistent specialty dishes. But don’t let this alarm you — everything on the menu could be considered a specialty dish.

Opened since:

Dave and Cranky’s will be hitting its three-year anniversary in November of this year.

Hours:

Dave and Cranky’s is open for lunch Tuesday–Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m., and dinner is available Monday–Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Friday–Saturday from 5 to 10 p.m.

Entrees range from $12 to $19

Fun fact:

The curtains that hang in Dave and Cranky’s windows were made by Dave’s grandmother.
