After three weeks of fan voting, BYU now stands one win away from winning the NCAA 6th Fan competition.

The 6th Fan competition started earlier in February where individuals could vote for their favorite schools on the NCAA website or by tweeting their favorite team’s designated hashtag. The 16 teams with the most votes were put into a tournament where schools faced off each other for the most votes. The winning school will win $100,000 for their school and those who vote will also have a chance to win various prizes.

BYU started the tournament with the eighth most votes and narrowly edged out a victory against Western Carolina in the first round. BYU dominated the no. 1 seed, North Dakota State, to earn a trip to the Final Four, and last week BYU fans helped narrowly defeat Texas-Pan American to move on into the championship. The championship is being held this week against Western Illinois University.

BYU students and fans can help support the Cougars in the competition by going to 6thfan.ncaa.com or by tweeting #6thFan along with #BYU.
