The Jambo Africa Burundi Drummers, dressed in red robes with white sashes, danced, sang and drummed in an effort to increase awareness of the African studies minor available through the Kennedy Center on BYU campus.

“I think it was a great way to promote their culture,” said MJ Naval, an accounting major from Pitman, N.J., of the high-energy drummers. “It just drew people in.”

The Jambo Africa Burundi Drummers have performed at World Refugee Day and other events in an effort to promote cultural awareness and educate the public about HIV prevention.
