BYU campus news manager to retire

Campus News Manager and YNEWS Editor Cecelia Fielding is retiring after nearly 30 years of employment.

She thanked everyone she has worked with at BYU in a news release.

'Thank you so much for your interest in the events and happenings on the BYU campus,' she said. 'It has been my great pleasure to work with all of you (and your predecessors) over the years, and I wish you all the very best.'

Fielding received her bachelor's degree in English from BYU with a minor in journalism and has done graduate studies at BYU and DePaul University. Before returning to BYU, she worked at the Daily Herald and was an editor for the United States Institute of Theatre Technology.

At BYU, she earned a gold medal in the national 2000 CASE Circle of Excellence Award program for her work as the editor of YNEWS, which is the BYU faculty-staff newsletter.

Her successor has not yet been announced.
