PROVO, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old Salt Lake County woman is dead after falling during a hike at Bridal Veil Falls.
Utah County sheriff’s officials say Kaitlin Keeney suffered fatal injuries in a 40-foot tumble on Wednesday evening.
Authorities say the woman’s friend called 911 about 5:30 p.m., and crews responded to the scene with climbing gear, a medical helicopter and a rescue sled.
Deputies say it appears Keeney died before rescuers reached her.
