BYU volleyball hosts conference foes Saint Mary’s on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. and Pacific on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. both in the comfort of the Smith Fieldhouse.

The Cougars improved their record to 8-3 (1-0 WCC) after upsetting rival Utah last week in five sets and No. 3 San Diego in three sets. BYU has won 18 straight games at home and they haven’t lost in the Smith Fieldhouse since November 17, 2011.

BYU first battles conference opponent Saint Mary’s 6-4 (2-0) Sept. 26 in their 11th matchup. The two teams split the series last year but the Gaels hold a 6-4 edge in the total series.

In 2012 Saint Mary’s went 18-11 (12-4).

Next the Cougars play new conference member Pacific 9-4 (2-0) Sept. 28 in their 12th matchup. However, the last time BYU played the Tigers was in the 1998 NCAA tournament when the Cougars won 3-1 in the third round.

Last season Pacific finished 20-11 in their last year in the Big West before making the conference change to the WCC.
