The UCCU event center at UVU will be hosting a jazz-rock concert with a political twist featuring two famous political speakers Thursday night at 7 p.m.

“We are the Strike,” a rising jazz-pop-rock fusion band from Provo, has previously been on the same ticket as Kelly Clarkson, Carly Rae Jepperson and the Piano Guys. At UCCU stadium Thursday night they will open for College Republican speakers, Senator Mike Lee and Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love.

“It’s supposed to be a really great event, especially because the Headline speaker will be Senator Mike Lee,” said Bryan Pistorius.

Pistorius, the vice president of editing for the BYU College Republicans Club, stated that though the event was not organized by that organization, members are encouraging students to attend by providing publicity for the event and by providing event and ticket information.

Tickets can be purchased on smithtix.com or by visiting the BYU College Republican booth located today and Thursday outside the west side of the Wilkinson Center.

Visit the Family Home and Social Science board on the main floor of the SWKT or the BYU College Republicans Facebook page for more information.
