BYU Women’s Soccer player Ashley Hatch has had quite the week. The freshman’s hard work payed off today when she was named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.

Hatch helped the Cougars stay undefeated this week with a pair of vital goals. Last Monday, she scored the equalizing goal in the first half at #25 LSU, making the game 2-2. The Cougars went on to win the game 4-2. Friday night, Hatch scored the game-winning goal against rival Utah on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

“It’s amazing. Hard work pays off,” Hatch said on Friday after the win.

Hatch becomes the second Cougar to be given the honor in the last three weeks. Senior midfielder Rachel Manning was awarded the honor in week one.

Manning and Hatch will lead their team into a game at the University of Oregon on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
