Utah Valley offers a wide selection of events in June that will appeal to all ages.

1. See Disney’s Tarzan: The Musical

The Scera Shell Outdoor Theatre in Orem is hosting a variety of shows and concerts. Disney’s “Tarzan: The Musical” is the first musical of the season and will run from June 6 to June 22 on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

“I’m super excited for the Tarzan production this summer,” said Nolan Adams, a junior from Las Cruces, N.M. “I’ve seen a couple events at the Scera Theatre before, and it has a great outdoor environment.”

2. Attend the Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Days

This summer marks the 39th Annual Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Days. Located at Thanksgiving Point on June 7 and 8, the festival will feature Highland dance, piping and drumming and athletics. Athletics will include the Caber Toss (a fallen tree), the Braemar Stone Putt (a 22-pound stone) and a hammer toss. Ticket information and a schedule of the events can be found at www.utahscots.org.

3. Participate in the Orem Summerfest 2013

The Orem Summerfest 2013 will include a car show, a baby contest, kids crafts, parades and more. Most events will take place on June 14 and 15 at the City Center Park.

Coralee Hernandez, a recreation management major from Orem, usually attends the summerfest with her family.

“It’s a really good event to bring everyone out of the house,” she said. “It’s a unifying thing to do with people you already love spending time with, and there are more people to make new friends in addition to the ones you already have.”

4. Go to the 91st Strawberry Days and Rodeo

Strawberry Days in Pleasant Grove boasts to be the longest continually running event in the state of Utah. From June 16 to 22, the event will include free concerts, fishing, a rodeo and a parade. To view a full schedule of events, visit www.plgrove.org/strawberry-days.

5. See Josh Turner in concert

Lissi Argueta, a microbiology major from Houston, Texas, said she is excited Josh Turner is playing at the Scera Shell Outdoor Theatre at the end of the month.

“Being from Texas, country music is something that I really love, so I’m really excited to see Josh Turner in concert,” she said.

Tickets for the concert are on sale but are expected to sell out quickly.
