Robbery suspect sought in Provo

A Friday afternoon gun-point robbery in Provo left an employee stunned and knocked to the ground while the perpetrator got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Information obtained from the Provo Police Department’s website states that officers responded to the robbery about 5 p.m. May 17 at the Advanced Insurance office on 363 North University Ave.

A female employee said an unknown hispanic man in his 30s, weighing about 150 pounds and 6 feet tall with a thin build, pointed a 9-millimeter handgun at her and demanded she give him money. As the 27 year-old woman attempted to stand up, the man pushed her down and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was wearing black jeans, white tennis shoes, including a oversized black sweatshirt with a hoody pulled over his head. The hoody had a picture of a skeleton on it.

Trespassing

May 14     A person was found in a closed area of the Crabtree building and escorted from the area by officers just after 6 a.m.

Criminal Mischief

May 9     Criminal mischief reported May 9 in the athletics area of campus is now reported to have been caused by people who were riding skateboards on stair rails. They were removed from the area and the BYU grounds department was called to make repairs.
