Michelle Marchant to give devotional April 2

Associate Professor Michelle Marchant from the Department of Counseling Psychology and Special Education will address BYU students and faculty in the J. Willard Marriott Center on April 2 at 11:05 a.m.

Marchant’s address will be entitled, “My Life Is a Gift, My Life Has a Plan.”

Her primary fields of research are teacher education strategies and the prevention of emotional and behavioral disorders.

Marchant received her doctorate from Utah State University and became director of the BYU special education undergraduate program in 2009.

She was also selected as one of 15 national trainers for Vanderbilt University’s IDEA and Research for Inclusive Settings Center in 2008.

Before receiving her doctorate, Marchant was a resource teacher at public schools, where she assisted students with mild to moderate disabilities.
