Elder Donald L. Hallstrom of the Seventy to speak at devotional

At 11:05 a.m. tomorrow, Elder Donald L. Hallstrom of the Presidency of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will address the BYU campus at the J. Willard Marriott Center.

Elder Hallstrom was called to the Presidency of the Seventy in 2009 after serving in the First Quorum of the Seventy since 2000.

During that time, he served from 2000 to 2003 as the Area President of the Asia North Area. He then served from 2005 to 2009 as both a member of the Asia Area Presidency and later the president of the Asia Area Presidency.

He has also served as an Area Authority Seventy in the North America West Area, a member of the North America Central Area presidency, in the Young Men General Presidency and as executive director of the Church Audiovisual Department.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in economics from BYU, Elder Hallstrom worked for seven years at a real estate firm before beginning his own firm, The Hallstrom Group. He retired as president of that firm when he was called to full-time Church service.

Elder Hallstrom married Diane Clifton after his service as a full-time missionary in England. They have four children and five grandchildren.
