BYU men’s tennis travels to UCLA for ITA-Kick Off

BYU’s nationally ranked and undefeated men’s tennis team is in Los Angeles this week to participate in the ITA Kick-Off at the UCLA campus competing against UCLA, South Florida and Cal Poly.

No. 57 BYU enters this week’s competition fresh off an upset victory over No. 44 Columbia earlier this week. The Cougars are also off to a 4–0 start after also defeating Utah State, Weber State and Fordham. UCLA started of its season with a 6–1 win over regional rival UC Santa Barbara; the Univerisity of South Florida has started off 2–0. Cal Poly is also 2–0, fresh off an upset victory over No. 50 Fresno State.

BYU begind the competition with a match against No. 50 South Florida on Friday at 10:00 a.m. PST followed by No. 3 UCLA against No. 57 Cal Poly. If BYU wins it will play the winner of the UCLA Cal Poly Match on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. PST. If the Cougars lose they will play at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday against the loser of the other match.

The Cougars will look to pick up their first ever win over the Bulls of South Florida on Friday. If BYU gets a chance to play UCLA it will also be looking for a first over win over the Bruins. Against Cal Poly, BYU has 2–2 overall record.
