Blog: Lance Armstrong no longer associated with Livestrong

[media-credit name=”Getty Images” align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]Lance Armstrong lost his seven Tour de France titles after allegations of drug use.  And now, in the midst of these accusations, he is severing his connection to Livestrong in an attempt to minimize the damage.

Officials agreed that Armstrong was clever in using drugs without being detected, using a variety of enhancements to aid him in the races.

 Armstrong resigned from the board of directors for Livestrong on Nov. 4. He had previously resigned as chairman from the charity he founded Oct. 17 but had kept a seat on the board.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency ordered Armstrong banned from the sport for life and stripped of his titles. The International Cycling Union, which had originally supported Armstrong’s fight, later agreed to wipe out Armstrong’s record seven victories.
