“We think we’re very capable of winning,” Brockbank said. “We have the opportunity to win.”

This tournament will be go over three days instead of two, a change which BYU golfer Mike Jurca thinks will be to the team’s advantage.

“This is a big benefit for our team,” Jurca said. “We are going to have more energy and be more rested up.”

The field of teams for this invitational could also be an advantage because it is not as tough as the past couple of tournaments.

The team has been close to cracking the top three in a couple tournaments already. Brockbank says the team just needs to start and finish strong.

“We are seeing a lot of pretty good golf, but still have difficulty starting and finishing at times,” Brockbank said. “We got to figure out how to play in the game for 18 holes.”

Brockbank also said Zac Blair, one of the most successful golfers on the team, needs to be successful in order for the team to be successful.  He also needs the players on the team who have been finishing in the fourth and fifth spots to play well.

Senior Adam Tebbs, who finished 4th among the rest of his teammates, knows it is going to take a team effort.

“It comes down to being consistent and all of us stepping up on each, individual round,” Tebbs said.

In order for this to happen, Tebbs said the team needs to play smart and have better course management. He feels if the team hits more shots towards the middle of the green then they will put themselves in a great position to win.

Brockbank has been pleased with how the team has practiced and said the weather has not hindered them.

“Our qualifying this week was really good; the weather has not made a big difference,” Brockbank said.

Even with a strong couple weeks of practice, Brockbank says he does not know exactly what he will get from his team.

“We will see what team shows up,” Brockbank said.
